  11. My psion 3a's microphone is broken.  How  an I fix it?

  13. While I  am   in the  case,  is  there a  modification  that Psion can
  14. recommend that gives me  headphone  out and  microphone in, as  I feel
  15. that the Psion 3a rather lacks these.

  17. Pulling .wve's off a  remote PC does  not work real time,  and a 4 min
  18. techno track as a .wve takes up the whole Psion 3a!  A mod file player
  19. would be nicer, but I  am stuck at the  moment on getting 4 tracks  of
  20. amiga sample audio through one channel.   Its not impossible.  I would
  21. do   some  work   on    wavmod (the    mod  stands    for   modify not
  22. Sound/Pro/Tracker    module which is very    nice,  but samples is not
  23. enough,  expecially as  I have   broken the  microphone and so  cannot
  24. sample. Idiot I am with a sharp instrument.

  26. What is needed is an analog synth with digital filters.  I am going to
  27. look into porting sapphire<sp> to the  Psion 3a from Unix. This renders
  28. a digital filter pipeline into a .wav.

  30. I have been doing lots of FFT frequency plots on 'mxv' on linux of all
  31. my favourite acidcore tracks. I think the noise I like, the 303 noise,

  49. Kids love Psion 3a's. The keyboards are just perfect size!

  51. I have  been copying each Psion 3a  2M file system incarnation into my
  52. home   directory.   Anyone interested   in having  these   on the  net
  53. somewhere  as a sort of online  running 'Nick's Psion cache directory'
  54. sort of thing. So far I have:

  95. My current theory is that the 2M of Psion RAM  is just the local cache
  96. of all the packages I have on the Linux box, and hence the Internet.

  98. RCOM is very very nice the way  you can access  ALL Psion drives on PC
  99. and, best of  all, all PC  drives from the  Psion using REM::  .  That
  100. wasn't expained very  well.  Now what I  want  is to be  able to reach
  101. whole Linux     file  system  from  Psion.   Then   I  can    NFS link
  102. sunsite.doc.ic.ac.uk to the Linux box, and hence to the Psion, and get
  103. files off the Internet into the Psion FROM THE PSION something like:

  115. Anyway, any  sign  of the  TCP/IP stack?  Unix  compatible C compiler?

  118. Insidentaly,   the    reason freeVT sucks is     that  is doesn't have
  119. Xmodem/Ymodem support.  Upon reading   the manual in Psionics  it says
  120. that Xmodem/Ymodem is  built into the  EPOC  OS  as  layers on a  device
  121. driver, so it shouldn't take much to get it working. Sort it out, eh?

  124. Why has nobody given me a copy of the SDK yet, warez  style?  Go on, I
  125. can't afford to buy it, not on 35 pounds a week Giro  (the Psion was a
  126. gift) and the newsgroup is full of people just  begging those with the
  127. compiler to  'O please compile up something  you powerful  rich people
  128. with the means   of production.' You  might even   get some java/Psion
  129. crossover ported stuff.

  131. Come on Psion INC/PLC/Mega Corp, you are inhibiting the development of
  132. the  Psion with your  petty profiteering.  I will get  a copy of the C
  133. compiler one off someone else, anyway, but  it would be a nice gesture
  134. on your part.  ? How many copies have you  sold? Give it and info away
  135. for free or  Linux / GNU / Sun  / Java  / The-Whole-Damn-Internet will
  136. laugh and leave you behind, despite the best efforts of all these nice
  137. folks.
